What league does WYAA reside in?

Do I have to Live in Waxahachie to Play Tackle Football?

Under current BVFA bylaws we are allowed to make a team of 20% non WISD residents and 80% WISD residents. For every 20 players on a team we can take 4 non WISD players. We will take non WISD players as first come first serve No Exceptions! 

What age divisions are available for cheer and football?

Football: Based on rules within the BVFA a player is put in the division of his/her age as of May 1st of the current year. A player may not play up one (1) year Per BVFA bylaws. NO EXCEPTIONS

WYAA offers teams in each of these divisions: FLAG 4-5 yr olds, Bantam 6-7 yr olds, Minor 8-9 yr olds and Major 10-11 year olds 

Cheer: Although we would love to offer cheer squads for every team in every division, sometimes that is not feasible. Competitive cheer has made it very difficult to do this. Your cheerleader may be combined to cheer for different teams and divisions. We will do Our best to let siblings cheer for the same football team 

What is the weight limit to carry the football?

Currently under BVFA Bylaws the weight limits are as fallows 

Flag (4-5 yr olds) - No limit

Bantam (6-7 yr olds) - 80 Pounds 

Minor (8-9 yr olds) - 100 Pounds 

Major (10-11 yr olds) - 120 pounds 

Any Player over these limits will be required to wear an X on the top of their helmet. 

 Can I request a team?

You can certainly request a team, however that does not guarantee that your child will be placed on that specific team. There are various factors that come into play when selecting teams. Number of participants, returning players, draft and coaches are all factors that must be taken into account when forming teams.

If you would like to request a team, please do so on the day you sign up. Requests will not be taken after that.

How do I sign up to coach?

Please register to do so on our site, keep in mind that any and all coaches for Football, Cheer and Track must meet with our Coaches Director and must have WYAA Board Approval. Coaches must also pass a Background check issued by BVFA. Any person that wishes to be on the field during games needs to pass the BVFA background check. Can I get a refund?

Yes.  If a participant/parent qualifies for a Refund, it will follow the dates below:

·         Before last day of registration 100% of registration (after SI Play admin cost)

·         Before first game/track meet 50% of registration (after SI Play admin cost)

·         Before 3rd game/track meet 25% of registration (after SI Play admin cost)

·         After 3rd game/track meet no refund will be offered.

·              Track refunds will be made after SI Play admin cost and uniform cost

Our fees for football and Cheer cover insurance, field rental, officials, helmet decals, BVFA fees and WYAA website cost and other miscellaneous items need for coaches and game day field equipment. It does not include uniform or equipment. Both the uniform and equipment may be purchased on our site please Click Here to purchase. New Players that wish to have helmets painted will need to turn them in by the last Saturday in April at a cost $40

Early registration: Feb 15th - May 15th $120

Regular registration May 15th - June 15th $135

Late registration June 15th - July 15th $145

Track Registration

Track Registration includes Insurance and Uniform, Parents are responsible for track spikes, and gate fees to enter each track meet.

Once registration closes we will not accept any more players. 

Where do you practice and play your games?

Currently we hold football and cheer practice behind Lumpkins Stadium on the grass football fields on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 7:15 

Track practices at Howard Jr High on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 7:00

Where do you play your games?

Currently our home stadium for football and cheer is Life High School in Waxahachie we usually have a 8-9 game season with half of the games at home and the other half in towns that are in BVFA

How do I file a complaint against someone/something within the league?

The Board of Directors wants to and will hear your complaints. We ask that you follow the chain of command first. If this is a team issue, please start with your coach and with our Coaches Director. The Board will not hear cases for team issues unless the chain of command has been followed.  Any other issues should be directed to the league President or Vice President.
